Saemidori — "clear green" in Japanese — is a cross between Yabukita and Asahi, bred to combine the sweetness of Asahi with the vivid colour of Yabukita. The result: one of the most visually striking matcha cultivars grown in Uji. Exceptionally smooth. Floral, sweet, no rough edges.
First harvest, shade-grown, stone-milled. Takayuki Matsuda, Wazuka, Kyoto.

[High grade] matcha
Our high grade matcha comes from [a small network of farmers in Uji] a region known for its long-standing tea tradition. We don’t source broadly — each tea is chosen intentionally for its balance, clarity and character.
The line focuses on single cultivar matcha, offering a more distinct and transparent expression of flavour. A focused selection that [feels clean, consistent and true to its origin] made for both everyday drinking and slower, more considered moments.
